Short version of Pilates history

In order to understand the basics of Pilates and why it can work for you, you first need to know some Pilates History and where Mr. Pilates came from. Pilates was originally formed in Germany by Mr. Pilates. Pilates was designed by a man that had many health afflictions as a child. The boy wanted to overcome the hardships he faced. He hoped exercise would not only boost his morale, but also his body's defense against his illnesses.


Mr. Pilates was born in 1880 


and many years later he invented some fitness methods people even in 2014 are still using and a couple of extensions have been added. 
What makes him different to other body improvement ideas and bring hin close to Yoga is he has no history of building muscle, it is about working with your body. Just take what you have and improve it thats the philosophy his method was founded on.
